Aloha Kakou!

Our team is a diverse group of individuals who met at the University of Hawaiʻi. We have backgrounds in entrepreneurship, architectural design, systems change, and business.

In 2019, we were challenged by The Purple Prize (an indigenous innovation incubator) to develop a platform that could cultivate better health for our communities by helping ʻāina-based practitioners create pono (righteous) livelihoods for themselves and their families. Mauka Market was born.

Our mission is to build a regenerative e-commerce platform that can stimulate local economies and provide quality jobs that support not only the sustainable use and management of natural resources but the repair, restoration, and regeneration of peoples and places.

We see a future where information about products we purchase is readily accessible so that we can track how we are reducing emissions, sequestering carbon, and supporting individual makers, in turn strengthening local living economies.

Our long-term vision for global impact is to generate equitable economic growth by creating a transparent, localized, and regenerative supply chain around sustainable resource management and biodiversity initiatives.
