The Shinrinyoku Forest Bath Salve is lovingly hand-crafted with deep, thoughtful intentionality by Tasia Yamamura from Nekko Wellness - a Mauka Certified Artisan.
This soothing salve is inspired by Tasia’s diasporic experiences, and can transport you immediately into the calm and peaceful depths of the forest with its bright, woodsy Hinoki’s (Japanese cypress) aroma that blends with ʻIliahi’s (Hawaiian sandalwood) sweet warmth.
The infused herbs were specifically chosen for their calming effects. An added bonus — the rare, high-quality, organic ʻiliahi essential oil is sourced from a Native Hawaiian family-owned business that is committed to native dry-land forest restoration and environmental education.
This salve is one of the Mauka team’s personal favorites, and has also been used prior to entering into Waiakekua Forest to help keep the hungry mosquitoes at bay.
To Use:
Rub a small dollop onto clean hands. Cup them around your nose and mouth, close your eyes, relax your shoulders, and breathe in deeply to simulate the grounding, centering sensation of a forest bath.
Mauka Tip: Rub on your neck, behind your ears, and on exposed wrists / backs of hands prior to entering the forest to help keep mosquitoes at bay.
